Senior Project Accountant

Job Description

Our client, a mid-market construction company, is seeking a full cycle Senior Project Accountant. This position will involve very hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting directly under the CFO. This individual will handle all accounting for projects and corporate accounting activities. Ideal candidate will have construction experience (commercial or large residential), and a blend of accounting, project accounting, budgeting, and internal reporting.

Responsibilities

• Performs monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. This includes all cash-related accounts, A/R, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, A/P, credit cards, payroll & related accounts, accruals, etc.
• Oversees project cost control and monitoring, including job analysis, to ensure proper job costing and correction of procedures to allow efficient and accurate reporting.
• Process payroll for all employees (all salaried, non-union)
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place.
• Provides a variety of analysis on projects.
• Supports continual process improvements and system enhancements.
  
  

Qualifications

B.A. degree in Accounting.

7-10 years of progressive Accounting experience, construction or project accounting environment required

General understanding of Accounting principles related to US GAAP

Advanced knowledge of analysis, reporting, and accounting

Strong skills with mid-tier ERP systems such as QuickBooks

Location: Merrillville, IN 46307

Salary Range: $45-52/hour, $95-105k upon hire
