Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Direct Care Workers to support youth ages 12–17 in the foster care system within the state of Florida. In this role, you will provide daily supervision, guidance, and emotional support to adolescents in a structured residential setting.
You will play a critical role in creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that promotes personal growth, accountability, and life skills development. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about mentoring youth, supporting trauma-informed care, and making a lasting impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour supervision, structure, and guidance to residents.
- Serve as a positive role model, promoting healthy habits, respect, and accountability.
- Assist residents with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, homework, chores, and recreation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment.
- Monitor and document residents’ behavior, progress, and incidents according to agency policy.
- Work closely with therapists, case managers, and administrators to implement individual treatment plans.
- Administer medications (if trained and authorized).
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and crisis interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with youth or in a residential/group home setting strongly preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and reference verifications.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and able to manage challenging behaviors.
Pay: $17.00 - $22.50 per hour
