Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Downers Grove, IL (Hybrid Schedule)
Pay Range: $30/HR - $35/HR

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Staff Accountant to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis. Located in Downers Grove, IL, the Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and support a collaborative accounting team within a growing manufacturing organization.

This role will focus primarily on month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting support functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable working in Excel and ERP systems, and be eager to grow within the organization. This opportunity offers a hybrid schedule with only two days onsite per week.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post recurring journal entries
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Prepare accruals for AP, tax, audit, IT, and professional fees
• Ensure Board of Director fees are properly expensed
• Prepare 30–40 account reconciliations monthly
• Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed
• Assist with tax accounting support functions (training provided)
• Work cross-functionally with internal departments and accounting leadership
• Utilize ERP systems and Excel to maintain accurate financial records
• Other duties as assigned

Staff Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Strong Excel skills required, including experience with V-lookups
• Must be tech-savvy and comfortable working within ERP systems
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
• Oracle experience preferred, but not required
