Role Overview:
Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for an AP/AR Accountant with our client located in Madison, WI. Our client is a well-established food manufacturing organization that has experienced significant growth following a recent acquisition. They are looking to add an AP/AR Accountant to their team on a direct hire basis due to continued growth and the creation of a new position.
This role will be evenly split between Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, supporting multiple business entities. The AP/AR Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, cash application, customer collections, account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or inventory-driven environment and be able to interview and start shortly after.
AP/AR Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage the full AP cycle across multiple business entities
- Receive, code, and process vendor invoices while ensuring proper approvals
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and packing slips
- Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain vendor records
- Resolve invoice discrepancies by working with vendors and internal departments
- Process daily cash application and customer payments
- Perform customer invoicing and assist with collections on past due accounts
- Review AR aging reports and research payment discrepancies
- Support customer account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end reconciliations and close activities
- Collaborate with operations and accounting teams to resolve billing and payment issues
AP/AR Accountant Qualifications:
- 3 years of Accounts Payable experience—REQUIRED
- Accounts Receivable experience including cash application and collections—REQUIRED
- Manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or inventory-driven industry experience—REQUIRED
- Experience with Bill.com and/or QuickBooks—Preferred
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems—Preferred
- Intermediate Excel skills preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
