Primary Functions

• Receive mail; open and date-stamp invoices and sort according to payment dates.
• Obtain appropriate approval for invoices.
• Accurately assign vendor account numbers and general ledger expense accounts by appropriate business units to invoices using Great Plains.
• Create and maintain all accounts payable files.
• Issue checks daily as requested.
• Process A/P check runs according to schedule.
• Responsible for payment of certain monthly expenses via ACH payment method.
• Reconcile credit card statements, receipts, and expense reports before processing payment. Follow up with employees when necessary to ensure accuracy of charges.
• Reconcile monthly medical billings for accuracy.
• Maintain the credit card authorization files.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts.
• Prepare annual 1099 and 1096 statements.

Requirements

• 3 years prior accounts payable experience
• Payroll experience required
• Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
• Great Plains knowledge strongly preferred
• Multi-company experience a must
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management in a multi-company atmosphere
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Team-oriented individual with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• Excellent math skills
• Creative and assertive demeanor
