Position: Debt Resolutions Specialist
Location: 436 Highland Colony Pkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157
Type: Full-Time
Hours: 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Holidays: All Federal Holidays Off
Weekends: All Weekends Off

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of collections experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Responsibilities:
As a Collections Agent at Brightview Federal Credit Union, you will work closely with our members to assist in managing their financial obligations effectively. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Contact members regarding delinquent loans and negative share accounts through phone, email, mail, and other communication channels
  • Evaluate delinquent accounts and determine appropriate collection strategies based on account status and member circumstances
  • Negotiate payment arrangements, loan extensions, deferments, and other approved repayment solutions
  • Monitor payment agreements and follow up to ensure compliance with established repayment plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities, member communications, and account actions
  • Update collection records and account information to ensure data accuracy
  • Analyze delinquent loan accounts and recommend appropriate collection actions
  • Administer all bankruptcy accounts from filing through final resolution, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, court requirements, and bankruptcy procedures
  • Manage total loss accounts by coordinating insurance claim proceeds, loan deficiencies, and account resolution
  • Process justice court filings and other legal collection actions while working directly with attorneys, court personnel, and third-party vendors
  • Coordinate repossessions, collateral recovery, and deficiency balance collection efforts when applicable
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state collection laws, regulations, and credit union policies
  • Prepare collection reports and maintain required documentation for audits and regulatory review
  • Monitor delinquency trends and recommend process improvements to increase collection effectiveness
  • Meet established collection performance goals and recovery objectives
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive member and account information
