Attorney/Lawyer - Debt Collections

We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to join a law firm in Jackson, Mississippi. In this role, you will handle a wide range of debt collection litigation and creditor representation, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and overseeing cases through all litigation phases. This position requires expertise in managing high-volume cases, including small claims and multi-jurisdictional matters.

• Represent creditors in debt collection litigation, including trial proceedings and post-judgment recovery.

• Ensure adherence to banking compliance regulations and fair debt collection practices.

• Handle high-volume case management, including motion practice and settlements.

• Conduct small claims proceedings, such as bench trials, with a focus on civil procedures.

• Manage multi-jurisdictional cases and provide legal strategies across different regions.

• Oversee matters related to credit card collections, promissory notes, and post-judgment remedies.

• Address repossessions, replevins, and post-foreclosure deficiencies with legal proficiency.

• Provide insurance defense and subrogation support in applicable cases.

• Domesticate foreign judgments to facilitate post-judgment recovery efforts.

• Active admission to the Mississippi State Bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in debt collection litigation or related fields.
• Proficiency in handling high-volume case loads and managing litigation phases.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation, motion practice, and small claims procedures.
• Familiarity with banking compliance regulations and fair debt collection practices.
• Expertise in credit card collections, promissory notes, and post-judgment remedies.
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional cases and domestication of foreign judgments.
• Ability to manage repossessions, replevins, and post-foreclosure deficiencies effectively.
