Responsibilities
Brightstar is seeking a Computer Operator in Charleston, WV. This position requires flexibility with shifts, as it operates 24/7. The position offers competitive wages and shift differential for off-shift hours. It is an entry-level position responsible for general technical support of the data systems for lottery sales systems. This position is NOT a remote opportunity, so the candidate should be local to the data center site. Candidates should also be flexible when working a day or night shift position. Data Center shifts are 12 hours, 3 or 4 days per week.
Monitor the daily operation of Brightstar computer systems and network.
Carry out all tasks on the daily checklist.
Assist in verifying the validity and clarity of computer reports and other output before releasing it from Computer Operations.
Assist in the recovery activities necessary to restore normal operations.
Follow the correct escalation procedures within Incident Management.
Ability to navigate in Linux and perform basic commands
Experience with Office 365, including Teams
Take Helpdesk calls from retailers to troubleshoot issues and document accordingly.
Qualifications
Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. Qualifications
- Two-year technical college degree or comparable experience
- 2 years' experience in the related field
- Previous experience in a related field is preferred. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, holidays, weekends, and night shifts. Ability to follow checklists and procedures. Exhibits professional and customer-appropriate communications (written and verbal).
