Responsibilities of a Home Health Aide (HHA):
As a Home Health Aide, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for your clients by offering care, companionship, and reliable support. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assisting with light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Transporting or escorting clients to appointments
- Assisting with mobility and therapeutic exercises
- Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition to the RN Case Manager
- Following individualized care plans as directed
Requirements for Home Health Aide / Caregiver:
- Valid Indiana HHA certification required
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR certification (current)
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Negative TB test and physical (within the past 12 months)
- Clean drug screen and background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical caregiving duties
- Excellent communication skills and HIPAA compliance
