Overview
BrightStar Care of Sterling Heights is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations for our home care and skilled services division.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical quality, caregiver and nursing staff supervision, patient care coordination, and regulatory compliance across the agency.
We are looking for a strong clinical leader from home health, hospital, or post-acute care settings who is ready to step into a hands-on leadership role in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations for skilled and non-skilled home care services
- Supervise RNs, caregivers, and clinical staff
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and agency standards
- Conduct patient assessments, care plan reviews, and clinical oversight
- Support complex case management and care coordination
- Perform chart audits, documentation review, and quality assurance
- Support caregiver onboarding, training, and competency checks
- Collaborate with intake and leadership on patient admissions and care planning
- Ensure high-quality patient outcomes and satisfaction
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Michigan (required)
- Minimum 2-4 years clinical experience
- Leadership experience strongly preferred (DON, Clinical Manager, RN Supervisor, or similar)
- Background in home health, home care, hospital, or skilled nursing
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and care planning skills
- Experience with staff supervision and patient care coordination
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Experience
- Hospital RN case management or discharge planning
- Home health or home care clinical leadership
- Skilled nursing or post-acute care experience
- Quality assurance or regulatory compliance experience
