Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Use proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques, including Hoyer lifts and patient transfer devices
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or neurodevelopmental disorders
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience providing Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or dementia support is a strong plus
- Ability to assist with mobility using Hoyer lifts or other transfer equipment safely
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care experience are advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and patient transfers safely
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is beneficial
