Companion and Advocate for an Elderly Individual with Advanced Dementia ($25/Hr)

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to engage and support a single, elderly man living with advanced dementia, allowing him to live his best life possible. This role focuses on enhancing the individual’s quality of life through meaningful engagement and activities tailored to his unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage the individual in simple, enjoyable conversations about topics that he is passionate about
• Assist with daily living activities, ensuring that the individual maintains dignity and comfort while encouraging independence as much as possible.
• Monitor and report changes in the individual’s condition or behavior to family members and healthcare providers, advocating for the best care practices.
• Provide meaningful companionship, creating an environment that is fun and engaging
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment, adapting to the individual’s changing needs and preferences.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Previous experience in caregiving or working specifically with individuals with advanced dementia is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and understanding.
• A genuine desire to help others, particularly in enhancing the lives of those with cognitive impairments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
