Position Summary
The Journeyman Electrician will play a key role in the installation and execution of residential electrical systems while helping lead field crews on high-end custom home projects. This position requires strong technical expertise in both high- and low-voltage systems, excellent communication with builders and other trades, and the ability to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor electricians and apprentices on residential job sites.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain residential electrical systems in luxury custom homes.
- Work with both high-voltage and low-voltage systems, including lighting, controls, and integrated technologies.
- Coordinate daily activities with project managers, builders, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company quality standards.
- Perform inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company professionally.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license (or ability to obtain in accordance with state requirements).
- Minimum of 5 years of residential electrical experience, preferably in custom homes.
- Extensive knowledge of residential electrical systems, including both high- and low-voltage applications.
- Proven leadership experience directing crews or mentoring apprentices.
- Strong communication skills with builders, general contractors, homeowners, and fellow trades.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lighting control systems, home automation, or integrated technology.
- Familiarity with Control4, Lutron, or similar smart home platforms.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
