What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of People and Workforce Strategy position at BrightPath?
Director of People & Workforce Strategy
BrightPath • New Hope, Minnesota • Full-time, Hybrid • $125,000–$150,000
Our people are our services. The person who leads our workforce leads what we do best — we're hiring a Director to own that.
-BrightPath is a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing person-centered, data-driven services to people with adversities.
-BrightPath was established to enable individuals the freedom to pursue joy by providing quality home and community based services for vulnerable adults, minors, and individuals with adversities. -We employ roughly 175 employees across 6 services, growing, and running on EOS.
-We are creating a new seat on our leadership team: Director of People & Workforce Strategy.
-We need someone who thinks about seat/role design, staffing patterns, overtime, agency spend, retention, and time-to-fill as business performance problems — and who can build the systems that move them.
What you'll own
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of three: an Onboarding & Scheduling Generalist, a Talent Acquisition Recruiter, and an HR Business Partner, across workforce planning, scheduling, and talent
- Workforce planning and labor cost performance — staffing patterns, overtime, agency spend, and labor as a percentage of revenue
- Full-cycle talent acquisition for high-volume direct support roles and for professional and leadership seats
- Scheduling optimization — coverage reliability, shift fill, and the systems behind them
- Supervisory training and employee relations — building manager capability, and owning investigations, performance management support, and accommodations
What we're looking for
- 5 years of progressive HR leadership, including direct people leadership
- Real workforce planning experience in a shift-based, high-volume environment — healthcare, human services, senior living, hospitality, logistics, or similar. You've owned a staffing model, not just approved requisitions
- Comfort with labor cost mechanics: you can read a labor-to-revenue number, explain what moved it, and do something about it.
- Designed and implemented comprehensive total rewards programsEmployee relations and investigation experience, with sound judgment about when to involve counsel
- Workers Compensation experience administering return to work program
- A systems builder — you'd rather fix the process than work around it
Nice to have
- Minnesota DHS 245D or comparable regulated human services experience
- Experience in an organization running EOS or a similar operating system
- HRCI or SHRM certification
- Experience with CBIZ HRIS, Jazz ATS, or When I Work SCHEDULING SYSTEM
Details
- Compensation: $125,000–$150,000, depending on experience. [BENEFITS SUMMARY — health, dental, PTO, retirement, up to a 15% annual performance bonus based on individual merit and company milestones
- Reports to: Finance Director
- Location: New Hope, MN
- Requirements: successful completion of a Minnesota DHS background study is required for employment. [ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS — valid driver's license, MVR check, ]
