Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Extrusion Process / R&D Engineer to develop and optimize extrusion processes for the production of medical tubing. This role focuses on research and development initiatives to enhance product performance, improve manufacturing efficiency, and innovate new materials and designs that meet the evolving needs of the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize extrusion processes for medical tubing while ensuring high quality and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct experiments and trials to evaluate new materials, formulations, and process conditions to improve performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to implement process improvements and troubleshoot production issues.
- Analyze data and prepare technical documentation, including process specifications, performance metrics, and validation reports.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting extrusion and medical device manufacturing.
- Support the development of new product designs and assist in transitioning products from R&D to full-scale production.
- Provide technical training and guidance to production staff on extrusion processes and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in extrusion processes, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of polymer science, material properties, and extrusion-related manufacturing processes.
- Proven expertise in process optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools; experience with statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
- Mandarin-speaking ability is a strong plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments with strict adherence to safety protocols.
May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
