Activities Assistant - Part Time Weekends

Brighton Place Spring Valley is a 70-bed, 5-star rated nursing facility located in Spring Valley. We are a standard nursing home, having a mix of short term and long term patients. We are looking for a part-time Activities Assistant (preferably with experience) to work Friday-Sunday, 8am-4:30pm.

Job duties:

· Performs patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with Federal, State and Company requirements.

· Carries out support tasks relating to patient activities correctly and on schedule.

· Ensures resident activity calendars and communications are updated and posted in a timely manner as well as delivery and communication of patient mail daily.

· Participates in special resident events and outings ensuring necessary supplies are on hand and returned appropriately.

· Updates and maintains resident activity records.

· Participates in meetings and ensures creation of necessary communications and documentation, as required.

· Attends required meetings and in-service training.

· Assists with decorating center to reflect current season or holiday.

Qualifications:

· Should be certified either nationally or by the State in which practicing.

· Two year’s experience in a social or recreational program setting.

· Strong proven written and verbal English communication skills for business necessity.

· Good interpersonal skills.

· Good organizational skills.

· Ability to use own initiative with solid problem soling skills

· Experience in long-term care setting or related health care field.
