Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Veterinary Assistant to support our rehabilitation team in delivering high-quality care to our patients. This role works closely with the rehabilitation veterinarian and technicians to assist in appointments, provide patient support, and help ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the rehabilitation veterinarian and technicians during patient appointments and treatments
- Help prepare patients for rehabilitation therapies (e.g., therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, hydrotherapy, etc.)
- Safely handle and restrain patients as needed for treatments and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked rehabilitation area
- Clean and maintain rehabilitation equipment according to protocols
- Support patient comfort and monitor behavior during treatments
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care
- Perform general veterinary assistant duties as needed, including cleaning, stocking, and assisting in other areas of the hospital
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred, but not required
- Strong interest in veterinary rehabilitation and willingness to learn new treatments and techniques
- Proactive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift and assist in moving patients when needed
