About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Billing & Patient Responsibility Specialist to support our billing operations with a strong focus on patient invoicing. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients clearly understand their financial responsibility while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and send patient invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Calculate patient responsibility amounts based on insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs)
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding invoices, balances, and payment options
- Work closely with internal billing, insurance, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in billing systems
- Assist with payment posting, follow-ups, and account reconciliation as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in medical billing, patient accounting, or revenue cycle management preferred
- Strong understanding of patient responsibility, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable working with billing software and Microsoft Office tools
