After-School Inclusion Aide (Autism & Behavioral Support)

Bright Start After School is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Inclusion Aide to support elementary-aged children with autism and other social, emotional, and sensory needs in our licensed after-school program.

This is a meaningful role for someone who believes every child deserves to feel safe, included, and successful. You'll work alongside experienced educators to help children participate in activities, build friendships, develop confidence, and navigate challenges in a supportive environment.

Schedule

This position requires availability all five days each week and follows the public school calendar (including school vacations, holidays, and scheduled closures).

• Monday: 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM
• Tuesday: 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM
• Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Thursday: 1:30 PM –-6:00 PM
• Friday: 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM

24 hours per week

Pay: $28.00 per hour

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to children with autism and other developmental or behavioral needs.
• Help children participate successfully in games, crafts, outdoor play, homework, and daily routines.
• Support emotional regulation using calm, proactive strategies.
• Recognize signs of sensory overload and help children use appropriate coping tools.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, program leadership, and families.
• Follow individualized support plans while maintaining a safe, positive environment.
• Celebrate each child's progress and successes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following is highly valued:

• Autism support
• ABA therapy
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
• Special education
• Behavioral health
• Occupational therapy
• Speech-language support
• Psychology
• Elementary education
• Early childhood education
• After-school or enrichment programs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively supervise and engage with elementary-aged children throughout the afternoon.
• Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
