What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Inclusion Aide position at Milton Public Schools?
Under the guidance of the Inclusion Coordinator and Site Supervisor, the Inclusion Aide supports after‑school programs by helping all students access enrichment and recreational group activities. Duties include providing direction, guidance, and assistance to students; managing and supporting social, emotional, and behavioral needs; monitoring behaviors and functional life skills; ensuring student safety and security; and communicating with staff, teachers, the site director, and the program director to maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Schedule: This part-time role is for the 2025–2026 school year. Candidates must be able to commit to a Monday-Friday schedule, 2:30–6:00 PM (hours may vary by site), and six early-dismissal days 11:30 AM–6:00 PM
Primary responsibilities:
●Supervise and support students during after‑school programming to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed environment.
●Support transitions of students into, out of, and throughout after‑school programming, supporting smooth transitions between activities.
●Supervise and assist students during crafts, art projects, games, sports, and other program activities.
●Provide proximity support to identified children at all times.
●Promote and implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) frameworks and strategies to reinforce school‑wide expectations.
●Model positive behavior and clear expectations; use proactive, strength‑based techniques to guide student conduct.
●Assist Students by supervising, guiding, monitoring, and encouraging pro-social behaviors
●Use inclusion‑based practices and provide reasonable accommodations to support students with diverse needs and ensure access for all learners.
●Foster social‑emotional growth through daily interactions, targeted supports, and integration of SEL strategies into programming.
●Assist and guide staff in the implementation of behavioral interventions.
●Monitor student participation, safety, and well‑being; maintain accurate records and report issues to the site supervisor promptly.
●Maintain constant communication with the supervisor, program staff, and inclusion coordinator.
●Maintain appropriate records as assigned.
●Maintain organized program spaces; follow site safety, health, and emergency procedures.
●Participate in staff meetings, inclusion trainings, and ongoing professional development.
●Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
