Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Support residents with meal preparation, cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, and maintaining cleanliness in living spaces
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manage safe transfers for individuals with mobility challenges
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with privacy standards
- Implement individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to meet each resident’s unique needs
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Conduct patient observation to identify potential health issues early and escalate concerns appropriately
- Uphold safety protocols including CPR and First Aid certifications to respond effectively during emergencies
- Assist with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces to ensure a healthy environment
- Collaborate with team members, families, healthcare providers, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home & community care environments
- Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, autism support,
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of resident information
- Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing early signs of health deterioration
- Compassionate communication skills tailored for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while adapting to changing needs of residents
- Competence in basic cooking skills for meal preparation aligned with dietary restrictions or preferences
- Experience in working with autistic children a plus
- Physical stamina for standing, walking long distances, and performing caregiving tasks throughout shifts
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and relevant nursing or healthcare training are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications is expected
