Summary

We are seeking flexible, enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to support our classrooms across all age groups (Infant through Pre-K). This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-age environment and contribute to our mission of shaping the newest generation of Kansans. You will work alongside our Lead Teachers, support classroom activities and routines, and help create a safe, nurturing space for all our learners.

Key Role Outcomes

• Maintain 100% attendance and punctuality during assigned shifts to provide reliable coverage across classrooms and support seamless daily operations.
• Prepare and maintain learning stations, materials, and routines; provide vigilant supervision to ensure zero safety incidents and smooth, unstructured-free transitions.
• Assist all assigned students with age-appropriate activities, provide individualized attention, and communicate with Lead Teachers on observations and student needs daily.
• Uphold BMA values, follow all lead teacher directives, and maintain professional communication with families and staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care across all ages.

• Opportunities to work with Infant, Toddler, Junior PreK, and PreK classrooms

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, supportive care and supervision to children across various age groups
• Assist Lead Teachers with classroom activities, learning centers, and developmental activities appropriate to each age level
• Support daily routines including meals, snack, transitions, and outdoor play while maintaining safety
• Prepare and organize materials, learning centers, and classroom spaces
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment following all sanitation protocols
• Assist with behavior guidance and positive redirection under Lead Teacher direction
• Monitor and report on children's well-being, mood, and any changes in behavior or health
• Communicate effectively with Lead Teachers and support parent communication
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and KOEC licensing requirements
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of different age groups and classroom environments
• Support classroom operations and assist with special projects or activities as needed

Required Qualifications

• Must LOVE having FUN!
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children in childcare, school, or educational settings is preferred
• Basic understanding of child development across multiple age groups (Infant through School-Age)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, flexible, and positive attitude with ability to adapt to different age groups
• Commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (Infant & Child) required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a childcare center or preschool setting
• Familiarity with play-based learning and child-centered approaches
• Early Childhood Education coursework or certification
• Experience supporting children across multiple developmental stages
