What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Litigation Attorney – Insurance Defense position at Bright Line Counsel?
Bright Line Counsel is seeking an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney for an established Florida litigation firm in Jacksonville.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling insurance defense litigation and an interest in working on a variety of civil litigation matters, including construction defect, general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, personal injury, and wrongful death. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior associate to gain hands-on experience and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Manage insurance defense and civil litigation matters through various stages of litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and timely billable time records.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Prior insurance defense or relevant civil litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Experience with legal billing and timekeeping requirements.
