Overview
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Bright Life Pathways plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in achieving greater independence, community involvement, and an enhanced quality of life. The DSP will work one-on-one with individuals, supporting them in their daily activities, personal goals, and social engagement while ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of each person served.
Duties
- Support individuals with activities of daily living such as hygiene, meal preparation, mobility, and household tasks as outlined in their service plans.
- Provide community integration support by accompanying individuals to appointments, recreational outings, volunteer work, and other community activities.
- Foster independence by encouraging skill development, choice-making, and self-advocacy.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment both in the home and during community outings.
- Drive individuals to and from locations using a personal vehicle, ensuring safety and timeliness.
- Complete daily progress notes, incident reports, and documentation in compliance with ODP and agency requirements.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and participate in team meetings to review goals and service outcomes.
- Adhere to all Bright Life Pathways policies, as well as HIPAA and ODP guidelines and regulations.

- Basic knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and person-centered support practices.
- Ability to follow individualized support plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
- High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in human services or direct support is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to complete all required training, including ODP orientation and annual certifications.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 30.0 per week
