Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior Technician to join our team! In this vital role, you will work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, to implement behavioral therapy strategies that promote positive growth and development. Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to support clients’ developmental goals
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting to foster independence
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to track progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Support the development and execution of individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Use positive behavior management strategies to promote desirable behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including behavior logs, progress notes, and care plan updates in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with team members, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency in intervention approaches and provide ongoing support
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy or working with children with developmental disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Experience assisting individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to collect detailed data accurately during therapy sessions
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Compassionate attitude with excellent patience skills when working with children and their families
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining flexibility in dynamic environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or coursework in special education or behavioral health is a plus
