Duties
- Assist in supervising daily activities across multiple classrooms, including infant, toddler, and preschool groups
- Support classroom staff with curriculum planning, behavior management, and classroom management strategies
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Coordinate staff schedules, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations and health & safety standards
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming environment
- Oversee record-keeping related to attendance, incident reports, and developmental progress
Skills
- You must have previous professional experience in management in a child care setting in order to be considered for this position. If you do not have direct experience but you have a degree or other qualifications and/or a portfolio, that will count and you may still be considered for the job.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Proven classroom experience with effective classroom management techniques
- Ability to lead and motivate staff while maintaining a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, staff, and licensing authorities
- Infant, Child and Adult CPR, First Aid, AED certification training are required; additional certifications such as special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus. You may obtain it while you are employed here, you just will not be able to adequately perform your job requirements or a full time schedule until you obtain your certification
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and caregiving techniques for children with diverse needs
- You must be able to maintain a positive example to not only the children, but the staff as well. Must be able to not only be a team leader, but also a team player and follow the Directors example.
- Must be punctual and reliable
