Strong Youth Project App Development Team Lead (Temporary)
BYU is looking for an individual to lead a technical team (students in computer science and cybersecurity) to develop the Strong Youth Project mobile application that will be used to collect injury risk factor data from adolescent athletes.

Strong Youth Project App Development Team Lead (Temporary)
BYU is looking for an individual to lead a technical team (students in computer science and cybersecurity) to develop the Strong Youth Project mobile application that will be used to collect injury risk factor data from adolescent athletes.
What You’ll Do In This Position
Teach student employees the following-
- Digital infrastructure and how it can support their needs in exercise science
- Ethical ways to use technology to accomplish tasks
- Professional skills and technological vocabulary
- Algorithmic problem solving
- How to build confidence in programming skills to leverage while applying for jobs
- Security in the digital space1. CI/CD principles, particularly direct experience with Git and branch-based versioning (something they will use their entire career)
- How to automate calculations on data using Python and powerful libraries that Excel does not readily supply
- Querying and storing data in a SQL database, as well as other DB types if needed
- Designing ideas for using technology to make research efficient
- Cloud resources and how to host digital data
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, or related field.
- Experience with the Strong Youth Project app.
