Experience:
The School of Accountancy at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, invites applications for one professional faculty position to begin Fall Semester 2026. Qualifications include a masters degree in Accounting and a clear commitment to teaching excellence.
Duties/Expectations:
We are seeking a candidate who is both highly qualified and enthusiastic about teaching across a broad range of accounting topics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum—including prerequisite courses, the Junior Core, and the MAcc program across more than one subdiscipline (financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, and data analytics). Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in technology-driven instruction and data analytics, as these areas are of growing importance in our curriculum.
In addition to teaching, this faculty member will be expected to:
- mentor students engaged in experiential learning activities,
- collaborate with colleagues to expand, enhance, and deliver a world-class educational program, and
- contribute to curriculum development with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- participate in various forms of service to the department and university
The successful candidate will be adaptable, forward-thinking, and committed to preparing students for the evolving demands of the accounting profession.
As a professional faculty slot, this position has no research expectations.
The teaching load for this position consists of eight courses per year (24 credits), encompassing content development, delivery, assessment, and mentoring. There will be a two-course reduction in the first year of employment.
