Finance Career Operations Manager (part-time 28 hours/week)
The Finance Career Operations Manager works in the Business Career Center supporting the Finance Career Director in managing day-to-day operations, data, and student outreach to connect undergraduate Finance students with employers and alumni. This role plays a key part in facilitating career development opportunities by coordinating events, communications, and data systems, while also mentoring students on essential professional skills needed for recruitment. The Finance Career Operations Manager helps strengthen employer and alumni relationships to enhance recruiting outcomes and program visibility and oversees student assistants to ensure the smooth execution of finance career initiatives. This is a 3/4-time non-exempt position.

Finance Career Operations Manager (part-time 28 hours/week)

This role plays a key part in facilitating career development opportunities by coordinating events, communications, and data systems, while also mentoring students on essential professional skills needed for recruitment. The Finance Career Operations Manager helps strengthen employer and alumni relationships to enhance recruiting outcomes and program visibility and oversees student assistants to ensure the smooth execution of finance career initiatives. This is a 3/4-time non-exempt position.
What You’ll Do In This Position
- Manage logistics and communications for corporate Finance and Women in Finance treks, approximately 5-7 per year.
- Coordinate company visits, travel, host/student communications, and post-trek follow-up, including alumni interactions.
- Oversee the weekly Finance Career newsletter ensuring accuracy, completeness, and inclusion of employer, club, and career-related events.
- Assist with course structure, assignments, and updates under the direction of the Finance Career Director for courses FIN 180 and FIN 326.
- Meet with Finance students, under the direction of the Finance Career Director, to support successful outcomes in placement.
- Coach students on resume development, networking, interview preparation, and other professional skills.
- Monitor student placement and graduation plans, providing follow-up and support as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Career Director, including coordination of meetings, travel, and program logistics.
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort learning new data systems and reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers
- Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, strategy, or economics plus four years of experience
- Experience with data tracking, relationship management, or event planning
