Job Description

Deputy Title IX Coordinator

The Deputy Title IX Coordinator supports the Title IX Coordinator by leading investigations, facilitating alternative resolutions, and overseeing campus training and prevention programs related to sexual harassment and misconduct. The role ensures compliance with federal and university policies while fostering a fair, respectful, and educational environment.

What You’ll Do In This Position

  • Investigations – Receive and assess Title IX complaints; conduct prompt, impartial investigations; interview parties and witnesses; maintain detailed records; determine responsibility and sanctions; serve on decision-making and appeals panels.
  • Training & Prevention – Develop and deliver compliance, prevention, and awareness trainings for students, faculty, and staff; coordinate campaigns on bystander intervention, consent, and risk reduction; maintain compliance with Title IX, VAWA, and Clery Act requirements.
  • Alternative Resolutions – Facilitate non-adversarial resolution processes (e.g., mediation, restorative practices); determine eligibility and appropriateness; document outcomes; ensure informed consent and confidentiality.
  • Professional Development – Stay current on Title IX and higher education trends through ongoing training and conferences.

Required

What qualifies you for this role:

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field
  • Two years of professional experience in Higher Education or legal setting, preferably in the field of Student Judicial Affairs or Title IX investigations.

Preferred

  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in Higher Education setting, preferably in the field of Student Judicial Affairs, Student Conduct or Title IX investigations.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage sensitive information confidentially; commitment to fairness, neutrality, and BYU’s values; proficiency with MS Office and case management systems.

Pay Grade: 54

Typical Starting Pay: $79,500 - $103,500
