Bridgton School House is seeking a Head of School to provide overall leadership for our growing independent, Montessori-inspired micro school serving children ages 3–9. This is a key leadership position responsible for the academic, operational, and organizational direction of the school, while helping guide its continued growth and long-term success.
The Head of School will work closely with our founder, faculty, staff, families, and Interim Head of School to ensure continuity, strong day-to-day leadership, and thoughtful planning for the future.
We are looking for someone with strong educational leadership experience who can support our educators, maintain high standards across the school, build strong relationships with families, and help move Bridgton School House forward as it continues to grow.
Responsibilities
● Provide day-to-day leadership for the school
● Support and work closely with classroom educators and staff
● Work alongside the Interim Head of School during the transition
● Partner with the founder on school operations, planning, and continued growth
● Help support enrollment and the continued growth of the school
● Support curriculum, classroom environments, and student needs
● Maintain strong communication with families
● Lead staff meetings and support professional development
● Help oversee enrollment, admissions, and student transitions
● Maintain required school policies, documentation, licensing, health, and safety requirements
● Help manage school procedures and day-to-day operations
● Identify opportunities to strengthen programs and operations
● Help maintain the quality and consistency of the school as it grows
● Support community partnerships and student opportunities
● Help plan for future staffing, programming, and school needs
● Be present and involved throughout the school day
Qualifications
● Experience in education, school leadership, or a related field
● Strong understanding of child development and child-centered education
● Classroom teaching experience preferred
● Previous leadership, administrative, director, principal, or Head of School experience preferred
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Ability to work well with educators, families, and children
● Comfortable working in a small, growing school
● Montessori experience is helpful but not required
● Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, school leadership, or a related field preferred
Compensation & Benefits
● $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
