Duties
- Manage the full lifecycle of grants and contracts, from proposal development through award administration and closeout
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, sub-awards, amendments, and related legal documents with vendors, partners, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), and organizational policies
- Maintain accurate records of all contractual documents using document management systems such as Salesforce or PeopleSoft
- Conduct thorough document reviews to verify terms, pricing, scope of work, and legal obligations before approval
- Collaborate with legal teams on intellectual property law issues and legal drafting for complex agreements
- Coordinate procurement activities including vendor management, purchasing, and change management processes
- Utilize contract management tools like DocuSign for electronic signatures and ERP systems for procurement workflows
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to optimize value while minimizing risk
- Support business development efforts by preparing proposals, strategic planning documents, and technical writing for new initiatives
Experience
- Proven experience in contracts administration or grants management within a corporate or nonprofit setting
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and records management practices
- Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), UCC law, and compliance management standards
- Demonstrated ability in legal drafting, contract review, negotiation strategies, and contractor management
- Experience working with contract lifecycle management software such as Salesforce or PeopleSoft; proficiency in DocuSign preferred
- Background in research or proposal writing is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
