Purchasing, Logistics & Production Planning Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing, Logistics, and Production Planning Specialist to support procurement, material coordination, and delivery planning for our client. This role is responsible for sourcing goods and services needed for business operations while helping control costs, maintain quality, and support efficient production flow.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, commercially minded, and comfortable evaluating suppliers, reviewing market conditions, and negotiating pricing and terms. Strong communication skills are essential, as this position will work closely with vendors, logistics partners, internal teams, and leadership.
In addition to purchasing responsibilities, this role will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure materials and finished products move through the business efficiently and on schedule. This position plays an important role in securing the supplies, services, and logistics support needed for successful day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities
- Negotiate pricing, purchasing terms, and vendor agreements for raw materials, supplies, and logistics services.
- Track deliveries against scheduled receipt dates and maintain accurate open purchase order records.
- Ensure compliance with established material management processes, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in the development, organization, and execution of systems and processes designed to reduce costs, improve quality, and support timely delivery across the organization.
- Monitor process and product quality to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer expectations.
- Support the implementation of improved methods, workflows, and operational processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Research and support the adoption of best practices within manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and production planning.
- Participate in cross-functional teams as needed to support operational, purchasing, logistics, and production goals.
- Negotiate terms for inbound and outbound deliveries and maintain a shared delivery schedule or logistics calendar.
- Assist with planning and budget preparation related to purchasing, materials, and logistics needs.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements and manufacturing needs.
- Use financial and non-financial data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and support management decision-making.
- Analyze information related to purchasing opportunities, vendor performance, material needs, and logistics planning.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available to support smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Proven understanding of business management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work safely in a variety of conditions and maintain awareness of workplace safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to learn, improve, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain resource materials, supplies, and equipment to support efficient office and operational workflow.
