Direct Support Professional/Qualified Service Provider (Aging)

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to youth with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will empower youth with disabilities to achieve their personal goals, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life through personalized care and meaningful engagement. Bridgewell provides fun filled schedules for each individual you work with. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those you serve while developing your skills in direct support. You will also work in homes of aging and elderly individuals, who need assistance with activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, cleaning, meal prep, grocery shopping/errands, and showering.

Responsibilities

• Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
• Document care activities accurately in records, including incident reports
• Engage youth in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in community based services, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; Bridgewell can provide in person training if certification is not held.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining professionalism and compassion
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly valued
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures and understanding of care plans is beneficial
• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required for community outings or transportation duties
