Duties
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support clients in developing life skills to promote independence within their home and community environments
- Provide behavioral management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities
- Collect data on client progress and behavior to inform care plans and communicate updates effectively with families and team members
Skills
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with families and team members
- Basic knowledge in behavioral health, social services, or caregiving roles in home or community settings
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and first aid/CPR certification preferred ( on the job training)
- Compassionate approach to supporting clients with cognitive disabilities and developmental challenges
