The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for managing the company’s income tax accounting, tax planning, and overall tax strategy across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions. This role oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision processes (ASC 740), supports financial reporting requirements, leads tax planning initiatives, and partners with internal stakeholders on transactions, forecasting, legislative impacts, audit defense, and regulatory matters. The Tax Manager will collaborate closely with senior tax leaders, develop staff, implement process improvements, and ensure strong SOX controls and high-quality tax compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions and related ASC 740 calculations, including effective tax rate and uncertain tax positions.
- Oversee income tax disclosures for external reporting (10-K, 10-Q, GAAP statements).
- Lead federal, state, local, and international tax planning projects, including transaction analysis, due diligence, entity structuring, and M&A support.
- Partner with business units on tax implications of operational changes, projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal tax teams to implement tax planning strategies through compliance and reporting.
- Support tax forecasts, planning models, and schedules used for corporate budgeting and long-term planning.
- Contribute to internal controls, SOX requirements, risk analysis, documentation, and targeted compliance reviews.
- Assist with federal and state audit defense, including analyzing uncertain tax positions and valuation allowance impacts.
- Manage outside consultants, provide oversight of tax systems, and drive continuous process improvements.
- Communicate findings to internal/external stakeholders and support staff development and training.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum Seven (7) years of experience in tax, including a mix of tax accounting (ASC 740), tax planning, compliance, and audit support.
- Experience managing tax projects; supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- CPA or JD/LLM preferred.
Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
