Bridgewater Wines & Dines is opening up our new restaurant location in Leland!
We are seeking a positive, fast paced and multitasking, passionate Head Chef with a growth mindset to lead our culinary team in creating exceptional elevated dining experiences. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, menu development and catering while always maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a diverse team while fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment. Open availability is a must.
Duties
- Help us grow!
- Develop and execute innovative seasonal and weekly specials menus that reflect current food trends and customer preferences.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety standards, while keeping a positive work environment.
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, waste, schedule and maintaining cost control measures to optimize kitchen operations.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling techniques.
- Collaborate with the catering team for special events and banquets.
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with not only BOH, but also the FOH our Culinary Manager and owners.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation skills, and shift management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, promoting a culture of hygiene and safety among staff.
- Be an effective chef and team member during service.
- Collaborate with owners.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and health regulations.
- Experience in managing shifts effectively while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Background in hospitality or catering is preferred, with experience in banquet services being a plus.
- A passion for cooking with an emphasis on creativity and presentation is crucial for success in this role.
