Title: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Duration: Full-time
Work Location: Onsite in Raleigh, NC, Cary, NC, Indianapolis, or Fort Collins, CO
Overview:
Manages Mechanical Department activities and demonstrates expertise in a variety of Mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered a specialist.
Responsibilities
- Oversees mechanical and plumbing operations nationally, managing engineers, interns, designers, drafters, and administrative staff.
- Manages workload distribution and ensures detailed tracking of all Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection projects.
- Leads mechanical design for healthcare, medical office buildings, commercial, municipal, federal, and state facilities. Acts as Engineer of Record on select projects.
- Serves as a technical resource for system/equipment design, energy analysis (Life Cycle Cost, LEED, Energy Star), and coordination across disciplines.
- Conducts employee performance reviews, builds development plans, and mentors staff. Leads project teams and provides QA/QC oversight.
- Schedules quarterly visits to offices with direct reports and semi-annual visits to others.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Department Head or Manager
- Must be licensed: NCEES Registration, PE License
- Revit experience
- Active Engineer (not just a dept head, also picks up projects and actively designs)
- Portfolio of experience to present
Preferred/ Nice to Have:
- Federal Experience
- ABET Accredited Engineering Degree
- Certified Plumbing Designer (Preferred)
- Certified Energy Manager (Preferred)
- LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability metric
- Healthcare Facility Design Professional Certification
- High-Performance Building Design Professional Certification
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
