Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing care plans tailored to residents’ nutritional needs, including those requiring specialized diets such as tube feeding.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate dietary interventions and monitor progress.
- Supervise daily dietary operations, including meal preparation, service, and sanitation, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Support management in budgeting, inventory control, and resource allocation for the dietary department.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate diagnostic results and adjust nutrition plans accordingly.
- Provide health coaching to residents on nutrition, hydration, and lifestyle choices to promote overall wellness.
- Oversee staff scheduling, training, and supervision within the dietary department, fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to dietetics, safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, dietetics, and care plan development.
- Experience with patient assessment techniques and specialized feeding methods such as tube feeding.
- Leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in a dietary department.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition and health status.
- Competence in managing budgets and performing cost-effective resource planning.
