This is a part-time position. Non-scheduled - treatment appointments will be offered based upon an as needed basis

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Spa Massage Therapist to join the team! As the Spa Massage Therapist, you will be responsible for providing professional massage and body treatments to our guests. Reporting to the Spa Manager, you will use your knowledge of a variety of massage modalities and a general understanding of body treatment. The therapist will work with guests to assess their needs and develop a customized treatment plan to help them relax and improve their overall health and wellbeing.

Pay rate: $16.90 plus commission gratuity. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Able to provide consistent high-quality massage services to clients using various techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massages.
• Educate guests about the benefits of Spa treatments such as massage therapy and provide guidance on self-care and stress management.
• Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
• Have complete in-depth knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor consistently.  
• Always communicate effectively and respectfully with guests and colleagues.
• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
• Able to walk, including climbing stairs, and ladders, standing to a significant degree, feeling, rubbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, handling machinery, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
• Able to stand for long periods of time or for the duration of a shift.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and massage therapy techniques.
• Always maintain client confidentiality and professionalism.
• Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
• Able to work under pressure or in a high-volume environment.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and developments in massage therapy techniques and products.
• Assess guest’s needs and develop customized treatment plans.
• Attend training and development sessions as required by the hotel.
• Collaborate with other departments including restaurant, kitchen and front-desk to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist with other spa duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Massage Therapist certification from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC)
• Massage Therapy experience required.
• Minimum of 500 hours of massage therapy school and a certificate of completion.
• Flexible Schedule including but not limited to, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
• Must adhere to all applicable local and state licensing laws and regulations related to the massage therapy services provided, including following any applicable law pertaining to maintaining current Massage License.
