Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center is looking for a Dishwasher to join our Culinary team! Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, cookware, and work areas to ensure the highest standards of food safety and operational efficiency. You will support the culinary and food & beverage teams by ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment. Reporting to the Executive Chef or Kitchen Supervisor, you should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties:
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, storage areas, and waste disposal stations.
- Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with management and culinary staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning, stocking, and organization of supplies as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures in compliance with company standards and local health regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
- Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, handle cleaning equipment, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Specific requirements of the role:
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring all items are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Remove trash and recycling from kitchen areas and maintain clean waste disposal and recycling stations.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen floors, workstations, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries and kitchen supplies as directed.
- Support kitchen staff by replenishing clean dishes, utensils, and cookware during service.
- Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Follow proper chemical handling and cleaning procedures according to company and safety guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous dishwashing, stewarding, restaurant, hotel, or food service experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
