What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Specialist position at Bridge Tutoring and Educational Therapy LLC?
Bridge Tutoring & Educational Therapy is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Reading Specialist / Interventionist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literacy development and a strong understanding of reading intervention strategies, including support for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. This role involves creating a supportive, engaging environment that helps students strengthen their reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group reading intervention and literacy instruction.
- Support students in areas such as phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Utilize structured literacy or evidence-based programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, Wilson, etc.) as appropriate.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and session attendance in our online system.
- Communicate with the lead tutor regarding student progress; direct parent communication outside of sessions is not required.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and intervention methods.
- Experience with reading difficulties, dyslexia, or learning differences preferred.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience (in schools or private settings) preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation to our Roswell, GA center (30075).
- Must be professional, punctual, and authorized to work in the U.S.
