What are the responsibilities and job description for the Virtual Reading Specialist, Prequel (Remote) - $60,000/year USD position at Crossover?
You recognize the shift. The instant a learner transitions from guessing to reading with precision. They meet your eyes and announce, "I've got this." If that defines the work you seek each day, this is your place.
Prequel is a remote-first online school engineered for measurable progress, not hours logged. We're restructuring student learning so advancement accelerates, engagement deepens, and graduates exit with verifiable confidence.
Most of your time will be spent facilitating high-impact intervention sessions. The remainder involves leading brief motivation touchpoints that maintain momentum and goal achievement. This position fits professionals who value independence, immediate feedback cycles, and visible results. It does not suit those seeking rigid scripts or avoiding data analysis.
If your goal is helping struggling readers achieve substantial progress—and you value the latitude to customize your methods for individual students—let's connect.
What You Will Be Doing
Take ownership of grades 3–8 student outcomes—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational guidance that establishes confidence.
Basic Requirements
Prequel is a group of education brands that help the world's most ambitious kids learn 21st-century life skills by building projects with real-world feedback and impact. Through entrepreneurship and world-class mentors, Prequel helps middle and high school students build critical life skills not taught in school.
We believe that the best way to learn anything is through entrepreneurship.
We take teens from potential to progress. We believe that society underestimates what ambitious teens can achieve.
Starting now, teens can find what they're passionate about and accelerate their careers by getting hands-on experience - instead of waiting to "grow up.”
