Electrical Engineer
Position Overview:
The position emphasizes reliability engineering to reduce equipment downtime and enhance operational efficiency. It involves close collaboration with internal departments to deliver proactive, high-impact technical support.
Qualifications:
- Experience in power distribution design and implementation
- Strong background in preventive maintenance planning and equipment reliability
- Hands-on experience with industrial machinery such as furnaces, rolling mills, and slitters
- Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and digital drives
- Familiarity with electrical software tools
- Solid understanding of AC/DC systems, National Electrical Code, and industry standards
- Prior experience in maintaining industrial electrical equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage electrical engineering projects, including design, construction oversight, and equipment installation for both large-scale and smaller initiatives
- Provide engineering guidance for infrastructure repairs and new system installations
- Oversee high-voltage power distribution and substation maintenance
- Define scope, develop plans, and execute projects within budget and schedule constraints
- Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and program legacy and modern machinery, drives, and control systems
- Monitor and improve plant-wide power distribution systems
- Coordinate effectively with maintenance, engineering teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project execution
Work Conditions & Expectations:
- Flexibility to work off-shifts and weekends as needed
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related needs
Education & Preferred Experience:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or M.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with Lean principles, behavior-based safety, and predictive/preventive maintenance strategies
- Demonstrated engineering excellence in a heavy industrial setting
