Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 annually, DOE

Organization Description

Bridge Meadows is an intentional intergenerational community that supports permanence for children impacted by child welfare, supports their parents to thrive, and provides opportunities for meaning and purpose for older adults (elders). Parents, youth, and elders receive professional and natural support from staff, collaborating agencies, and one another, moving them toward the achievement of success in academics, health and well-being, and housing stability.

Job Summary

The Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Bridge Meadows’ intergenerational communities in North Portland, Beaverton, Redmond, and Tacoma. This position ensures program excellence, alignment with Bridge Meadows’ mission and values, and fidelity to the intergenerational model across all sites. The Program Director supports and supervises Community Support Managers and other site leaders, partners with property management and community partners, and advances the organization’s goal of belonging—reflected through housing stability, safety, support and connection—for children, families, and elders.

The Program Director embodies and champions Bridge Meadows’ core values—Warmth, Interdependence, Belonging, Purpose—in all aspects of leadership and collaboration.

This role leads the strategic direction of the program, ensuring development and accountability of KPIs, direct engagement with community members, and integration of property management and program to ensure holistic care for every resident. The Program Director supports the Community Support Managers (and teams) with the value of doing things “with and not for” those we serve. The Team health and wellness, management, and support is led by the Program Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide direction and support to Community Support Managers and site staff to ensure program quality and model fidelity.
  • Oversee consistent implementation of intergenerational engagement practices across all sites.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes; identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Build and maintain processes and protocols for Bridge Meadows programming.
  • Partner with the COO and CEO to scale and sustain Bridge Meadows programs as new communities launch.
  • Ensure alignment between site activities, organizational strategy, and funding commitments.

Team Supervision & Development

  • Directly supervise Community Support Managers (North Portland, Beaverton, Redmond, Tacoma).
  • Facilitate regular 1:1 check-ins, team meetings, and cross-site collaboration to foster a culture of trust, accountability, and shared learning.
  • Support staff in professional growth and skill development, including intergenerational engagement, trauma-informed practice, and community building.
  • Partnership with contracted Clinical Supervisor on case management, community member mental health, team support, and best practices.
  • Model collaborative, values-based leadership and ensure adherence to Bridge Meadows’ personnel policies and values.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property management teams, child welfare agencies, service providers, and community partners.
  • Establish partnerships to benefit Bridge Meadows’ programmatic outcomes and goals, including education, training, and resources for community members.
  • Represent Bridge Meadows at local and regional community meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team on storytelling, events, and funder engagement opportunities that elevate community impact.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Bridge Meadows model and mission in external forums.

Operational & Cross-Site Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure site needs (facilities, events, safety, compliance) are met.
  • Partner with Finance and Evaluation staff to monitor budgets, contracts, and data reporting.
  • Maintain a consistent presence across sites: weekly in Portland Metro (North Portland & Beaverton); monthly travel to Redmond and Tacoma.
  • Support emergency response, conflict resolution, and resident/community well-being as needed.

Belonging

  • Ensure all program activities reflect Bridge Meadows’ commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Identify and address barriers to participation and engagement across age, culture, language, and ability.
  • Create spaces for community members and staff voices to shape programming and decision-making.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

  • This is an in-office position with weekly presence at all Portland Metro—North Portland and Beaverton—sites, and monthly presence at satellite sites—Redmond and Tacoma. This includes occasional travel to community partners, as well.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work is required for community events based on our residents’ availability, scheduled outside of the typical (9am-5pm) workday. Monthly attendance at community events is important. This role flexes time when evening or weekend work is required.

Performance Metrics

In the Program Director role, the performance metrics include the following:

  • Program Quality & Fidelity: Consistent implementation of intergenerational model practices across all sites; measurable improvement in resident well-being and engagement.
  • Team Development: Staff satisfaction and retention; evidence of professional growth and collaborative culture.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Timely completion of program reports, data collection, and compliance deliverables.
  • Community Impact: Growth in community members’ participation, partner engagement, and visibility of Bridge Meadows’ impact.
  • Belonging: Demonstrated progress toward inclusive and accessible programming across all sites.
  • Leadership Presence and Support: Maintains consistent, meaningful presence at all communities (Portland Metro weekly; Redmond/Tacoma monthly).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in community development, social services, affordable housing, or nonprofit program management.
  • Proven success leading multi-site teams and managing complex partnerships.
  • Strong background in building programs, program management, and/or program evaluation.
  • Experience building and supporting a strong team, staff supervision, and professional development.
  • Understanding of mental health issues, human behavior, child development, older adult issues, trauma, systems and group dynamics
  • Experience with community engagement and collaboration.
  • Understanding trauma-informed, intergenerational, and strength-based approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular site travel.
