The State of Texas is seeking an experienced .NET Architect to design, develop, and modernize large-scale enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in .NET technologies, cloud integration (Azure preferred), and microservices architecture, along with solid leadership and solution design skills. This role involves collaboration with multiple technical teams to define architectural standards, ensure scalability, and maintain best practices across development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise applications using .NET Framework / .NET Core.
- Define and implement architecture standards, patterns, and best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design microservices-based architectures and integrate with RESTful APIs, EventHub, and message queues.
- Lead modernization initiatives for legacy applications and assist in migrating workloads to Azure Cloud.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams on coding standards, tools, and frameworks.
- Oversee code reviews, CI/CD pipeline setup, and automated testing processes.
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and maintainability through sound architectural design.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and propose optimized solutions.
- Document architectural decisions, data flows, and integration points.
Required Technical Skills
- 12 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core, Web API, Entity Framework, and LINQ.
- Experience designing microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency in Azure Cloud services including App Services, EventHub, Key Vault, and Azure Functions.
- Experience with SQL Server, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles (SOA, REST, Clean Architecture, DDD).
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Angular or React (preferred).
- Experience with security integration, authentication (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect), and role-based access control.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, automated builds, and version control systems (Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in state government projects or large-scale enterprise systems.
- Expertise in application modernization and migration to the cloud.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
