Duties
- Operate industrial sewing machines, including serging and embroidery equipment, to assemble garments and upholstery with accuracy and speed
- Measure fabric and materials using precise measuring instruments to ensure correct dimensions for each project
- Cut fabric manually with sharp cutting tools, following detailed patterns and specifications
- Construct garments or upholstery pieces by sewing seams, attaching components, and finishing edges according to established quality standards in production
- Handle materials efficiently within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, movement, and inventory control
- Maintain safety standards throughout all manufacturing processes by adhering to safety protocols and using protective equipment appropriately
- Conduct dimensional measurements during various stages of production to verify consistency and quality compliance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garment sewing, upholstery, or related manufacturing fields with a strong understanding of seam construction and garment assembly
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines such as industrial sewing machines, sergers (overlock machines), and embroidery equipment
- Skilled in manual fabric cutting techniques with attention to detail for precise pattern matching and material conservation
- Familiarity with measuring instruments used in textiles and manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of quality standards in production processes to ensure finished products meet specifications
- Experience handling fabric materials including textiles used in clothing or upholstery applications
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments to promote a secure workspace
- Warehouse experience is preferred for efficient materials handling and inventory management
