We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cold Heading Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cold heading machines to produce high-quality fasteners and metal components. Your expertise in machine setup, tooling, and quality measurement will ensure efficient production processes and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cold heading machines to produce metal fasteners and components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to ensure accurate machining and forming processes
- Adjust machine parameters and tooling to optimize production efficiency and product quality
- Conduct precision measurements using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Collaborate with team members on tooling setup, machine operation, and quality control tasks to meet production goalsQualifications
- Proven experience operating cold heading machines or similar metal forming equipment in a manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and anything over requires help and/or handling equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for periods of time, walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Skilled in measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement (including shop math)
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times
- Ability to perform machine setup, tooling adjustments, and basic troubleshooting efficiently
- Train and mentor lower level less experienced operators.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control in machining and metal fabrication processes
