Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and measuring according to recipes and standards
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in all food prep areas
- Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies and ensuring proper storage of ingredients
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and slicing tools, adhering to safety standards in production
- Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision to help prepare menu items efficiently
- Maintain inventory levels of prep ingredients and notify supervisors of shortages or spoilage
- Assist in checking in deliveries and storing in proper locations to ensure food safety
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient ingredient handling
- Understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in restaurant or catering settings is highly desirable
- Ability to follow safety standards during food production and kitchen operations
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and food presentation
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed in a fast-paced setting
