Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipes and safety guidelines
- Support meal assembly and presentation for various dining services, including catering events if applicable
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to food safety management practices and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep and service activities
- Follow all safety standards in production processes to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Experience
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety protocols
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, knives, and cooking appliances
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Basic culinary experience including knife skills and slicing techniques preferred
- Understanding of food safety management practices within the food industry or catering settings
